On Baker Street, London….Sherlock Holmes country

10.43am, Sunday 20th March, Baker Street, Central London, England

Morning folks, just doing the boring stuff this morning, buying a new pair of walking shoes, seeing as I’ve just about worn this pair of Karrimors – top UK hiking stuff – out. But my closest store is on Baker Street, just opposite the Sherlock Holmes Hotel, around the corner from The Globe Hotel, with its Sherlock Holmes bar. We ‘re definitely in detective country around here. Interesting thing spotted on the way here as well – the Great Portland Street tube station. This was our intrepid traveller Yalumba family ancestor Fred Caley Smith’s local train stop back in 1894 when he was staying nearby on Osnaburgh Street. So I’ll get up really early tomorrow and get some pics, and do some more ‘in the footsteps of after 122 years’ tomorrow
