Halloween in New Orleans

11.24am, Wednesday 31st October, Severn Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

Morning folks, a bit warmer today and we’re right on a full moon, down in New Orleans on Halloween. So what’s the local thing to do on such a day?

Visit the Voodoo Queen’s grave of course – and make a wish.

Not sure if I’m really game … but it is Halloween, and I do need some help in certain directions! So off to the St Louis Cemetery No.1 I went. Even though local folklore has it that Marie Laveau was only there for a year before being moved to another secret resting site within the cemetery walls – it’s good enough! Made the wish, and after a visit to the workshop where they make the Mardi Gras floats, I’ll be putting the car back safely this afternoon in the hotel garage as the town goes completely crazy!
