“Selamat Tahun Baru Cina” from Kuala Lumpur

1.23pm, Wednesday 18th January, Gate C25, KLIA, Kuala Lumpur

It’s a steamy old afternoon here in KL folks, and the air seems to be loaded with an overwhelming aroma of tropical fruit – mostly that super pungent durian. I got a quick look at Petaling Street this morning – KL’s Chinatown – and the place was chock a block full of two things : dragons – because 2012 is The Year Of The Dragon, and dried barbecued minced pork – a bit of a favorite of mine. This dragon year is supposed to be pretty special, as he is generally considered to be the “elegant herald of prosperity”!! Let’s hope we see some of that turnaround come through sooner rather than later!

Here’s my favorite dragon from today, and as I sit here waiting for my next plane ride – up to Los Angeles via Taipei – I’ll leave you with Selamat Tahun Baru Cina. Happy Chinese New Year, and I’ll see you when it’s Los Angeles
