Morning all – it’s been blowing a gale on and off for the last three days up in the Barossa, and it finally started bucketing down rain to go with the storms – good heavy stuff to fill the dams and tanks and give the vines a good drink. Not a good day for the pruning folk though – they’ll be in wetsuits today!
I’ve navigated through the nasty weather down to Adelaide, and I’m off on the lunchtime flight to Sydney. We have the annual Easts Rugby Union Club Wine Dinner tonight – then I have the rest of the week and the weekend off! Nothing much planned, but Sydney has always been good to me, so I have no doubt that I’ll end up tangled amongst the usual haunts – Speedos at Bondi, Wooloomooloo Bay, Sugaroom at Johnsons Bay, Balmain Leagues Club etc etc etc
The good news is that I’ll be working with the great ex-Wallaby captain Phil Kearns this evening at Easts – we’re co-MCs for the evening – and just in case you’re not sure which one he is, it is very safe to say that Phil is probably the only hooker to end up with a pretty face after such a huge career – and no cauliflower ears! Lovely bloke and very quick with the wit, so I’ll need to be firing on all 8 to keep up with him. Wish us luck, and I’ll let you know it goes, and what’s hot in the Harbour City.
See ya when it’s New South Wales.
