1.23pm, Thursday 8th July, Yalumba Clocktower, Barossa Valley, South Australia
Just had a chat with our man in North Queensland – Jason – and they’ve just started to rev up – literally – with the V8 Supercars coming to town for this weekend’s Townsville 400 racing through the streets. Turns out that last night the absolute hotspot in town was Watermark – yep that fab address on The Strand directly opposite Magnetic Island – and that Signature by the glass was the red of choice for the race fans and drivers alike! Good times!
Frosty times here all week in the Barossa, and here’s the down side of being the eternal traveller:
I forgot to check the gas bottles when I got home from the round-Australia trek – and ran out in the middle of cooking dinner Monday night.
So I’ve ordered more, but until they arrive – it’s the shower block down the back of the winery each morning. It’s a bit of a sight really, me half asleep in my Elvis pyjamas and ugg boots stumbling in … and a cleaned up, well trained machine ready to hit the job walking out! With any luck it will be sorted today, and the routine will be back to normal tomorrow – fingers crossed.
